Nestled back in a cozy corner off the main drag of Mill Avenue, The Tavern tops this girls list of favorite places for a few important reasons: First, the inside to outside seating option ratio is even! That hardly ever happens in prime people watching real estate such as Mill Avenue. Second, The Tavern on Mill carries every sports package necessary to make a College Football Saturday, or an NFL Sunday a success. So relax, sit back, sip a few brews and enjoy the gridiron goodness. Last, two words, Sunday Funday. With a build your own Bloody Mary bar, day drinking not only becomes tasty, it is also interactive, pick your favorite vodka and slide over to the oasis of Bloody Mary fixins.
What’s that? You don’t feel like busting out the hibachi before this week’s ASU game? No problem, the tavern is stumbling distance from the Light Rail station that drops you steps from Sun devil Stadium. Warm up your game day spirit with a few hundred of your fellow Sun Devil revelers at the Tavern. The menu offers everything from crisp crunchy salads for the meticulous girlfriend to a monster one-pound burger appropriately called The Terminator. In fact, the whole menu is chock full of tasty little morsels that are hardly reminiscent of “bar food”. From overstuffed burritos that can easily feed two people, to a seemingly endless list of burgers piled high with an array of toppings, and everything in between, The Tavern is the perfect place for lunch or a casual dinner on the fantastic patio.
The Tavern on Mill is also looking out for you and yours by taking it easy on your wallet. New Specials are waiting to be discovered on any day of the week. Monday thru Friday happy hour offers up a dollar off already low priced well, wine, and drafts from 4 PM- 7 PM. Mondays also serve up $3 “Big Beers” after 9 PM, Tuesdays are for all things Mexican with $2 cervezas and tacos, gracias! However, hump day has to be the craziest special on Mill Ave, for only five bucks, you can get a beer and a shot. Yes, you read that correctly, a beer and a shot for $5. Wrap up the week with $12 miller buckets on Saturday or Sunday afternoon and a tasty brunch menu that is served up hot and fresh on the weekends.
Whether you are looking for a place to watch the big game, the big fight, catch a little live music, or take a first date, The Tavern on Mill is the perfect place to do it all. So take a little detour off the beaten path, and pull up a patio chair at The Tavern. The best part, you may end up saving a little green on accident.
