Quality Mexican food at a budget friendly price is only a short ride away in Mesa at Mangos Mexican Café. Mangos might be small but it is packed to the rafters with good food, amazing service, and bright green walls. The long line of people waiting to order is a dead giveaway that the restaurant is serving up the best Mexican food on Main Street. Something unique to Mangos that other Mexican restaurants have not come close to duplicating, besides their attention to great service, is the Agua Fresca. This cool refreshing drink is derived from fruit puree, I recommend the watermelon on mango and served icy cold it is the perfect complement to their spicy salsa and delicious carne asada. Mangos does an excellent job of packing all of their dishes with incredible flavor. From the enchilada sauce to the perfectly cooked meat inside their burros, every bite is a flavor explosion. Fish tacos are one of my favorite south of the border treats and these did not disappoint! They packed a punch in all the right places and the cool avocado helped to tame the flames. The chips and salsa are also excellent, I’m a dip-able carb connoisseur and these chips held up to my incredibly high standards, as for the salsa although it is a delight with the chips, I would go as far as saying I may even eat it on wedding cake. It is that good. All in all Mangos is great. You can sit outside and enjoy your tacos with a side of people watching as well on the street front patio. This is truly a hidden gem of the valley, take a ride and go try it for yourself before a show at the Mesa arts center or after a long day at the office. |
