Keep it simple stupid, words to live by, also the idea behind De La Cruz Bistro’s menu. Simply wonderful but simple none the less. Situated just across the street from the gorgeous Mesa Arts Center, this little neighborhood gem begs for you to sit and whittle away hours with good friends and good food. Inside the corner bistro you will find a warm and inviting atmosphere and the same goes for the staff eager to grant your every wish.
The owners behind Mangos Mexican just down the street are also the masters of De La Cruz as well. One thing you will know is that they are early risers, opening up shop everyday at 6:30 AM. If you are at all like them and have a hankering for a stack of flapjacks or a hot and delicious omelet, you are in luck! De La Cruz is also serving up classic lunch sandwiches and wonderful dinner options as well. The menu is worldly, pulling inspiration from our south of the border neighbors as well as a little something from the French and the Spanish. Not to worry though, American classic comfort food with a twist is still on the menu as well. The grilled cheese with green chilies or the thick juicy cuts of prime rib will have you thanking your lucky stars… and stripes.
If you haven’t been to downtown Mesa please do yourself a favor and go check out all that is offered in that neck of the woods. Taking the Light Rail as Far East as you can and then hoping on the free shuttle that scoots down Main Street is a great way to see all of the new and exciting changes in this up and coming area. De La Cruz Bistro is the perfect pit stop for a nice glass of wine at the gorgeous copper bar. If you are visiting on a weekend night pop in for some great live jazz. Your inexpensive European vacation awaits you, without leaving the valley!
