If you are looking for a spot downtown, that has great food and ambiance without the attitude and long lines, look no further than Brick at the Arizona Center. Brick has taken over the old haunts of Pizzeria Uno in the Arizona Center just past AMC. They offer an innovative menu featuring salads, burgers, pasta, sandwiches and of course, brick oven fired pizzas. The new kids on the block have certainly figured out how to draw a crowd, a gorgeous new bar and an updated look inside welcome guests without any pretention. The patio’s sleek look flows well and can completely open up into the dining room on our beautiful fall nights that are just around the corner. This new urban kitchen definitely has the right stuff.
The décor however, is not the only thing that makes Brick a great new addition to downtown Phoenix. Although contending with certain “famous” pizza joints around the corner Brick will certainly put up a good fight. Offering all kinds of thin crust brick over pizzas featuring white pizzas to a meat lover’s short ribs pie, enjoying anything else on the menu seems like sacrilege, until you read the rest of the menu. One winds up hard pressed to refuse trying a juicy burger topped with blue cheese, bacon, and avocado, the brick pressed chicken, or pappardelle pasta with asparagus and mushroom cream sauce. Is your mouth watering yet? If you are looking to wet your whistle Brick is the perfect place to hit for affordable drinks as well as good grub, every day from the time Brick opens until 6 pm they offer happy hour prices on drinks and the outstanding wine list does not feature a glass over ten dollars. Talk about a crowd pleaser!
The Arizona Center is just blocks from US Airways Center and Chase Field serving up a perfect place to have a drink and share one of Brick’s great small plates before cheering on the home team. If you are starving for a new lunch spot downtown, Brick will be featuring weekday lunch specials for the working stiffs. Brick truly offers something for everyone, pull up a seat at the community table and make some new friends or scoot into a cozy booth with old ones, support a new local business in downtown Phoenix, while enjoying a great slice.
